The Role

As a Mid-Level Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Certivo’s frontend applications, ensuring performance, scalability, and user experience. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to build an intuitive, high-performance user interface for our AI-driven compliance platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain frontend applications using Next.js and React to create a seamless user experience.
• Implement and manage state management solutions, preferably using Zustand, to handle complex UI interactions.
• Write clean, reusable, and efficient code following best practices in TypeScript and modern frontend development.
• Optimize frontend performance, ensuring smooth interactions, fast load times, and efficient rendering of large-scale data.
• Use Tailwind CSS and other modern styling techniques to create responsive and visually appealing user interfaces.
• Utilize package management tools, preferably pnpm, to manage dependencies effectively.
• Work closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and AI-driven features into the UI.
• Debug, test, and optimize code to ensure a smooth user experience across devices and browsers.
• Stay updated with emerging frontend technologies and contribute to improving the development workflow.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a frontend engineer who is passionate about building scalable, performant, and intuitive web applications.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in frontend development with expertise in Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with state management libraries, preferably Zustand or Redux.
• Proficiency in Tailwind CSS and modern CSS methodologies to create visually appealing UIs.
• Experience with package management tools, with a preference for pnpm.
• Understanding of frontend performance optimization, including lazy loading and efficient rendering techniques.
• Proficiency in API integration, including RESTful and GraphQL services.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience working with component-driven development and UI/UX best practices.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience with AI-driven applications or agentic workflows.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Datadog for frontend monitoring.
• Previous experience working at a venture-backed startup.
• Exposure to frontend testing frameworks like Jest or Cypress.
